Welcome to the community instrument program. We are a mutual aid initiative with a simple mission to connect extra “community guitars” to youth 19 years of age or younger who are in need of an instrument. Where possible, we also source instruments besides guitars.

We are motivated by a core belief that all human beings have a right to access the tools of creative self-expression and meaning-making through the arts.

If you are a youth 19 years of age or younger in or near Tucson, AZ in need of a guitar, send us a message or chat with us at a community event and we will look for an instrument for you in the network. Please know that this is not a guarantee and it may take some time.

If you have a working guitar to gift — perhaps gathering dust in your closet — and you’d like to give it another life, drop us a line. We also need things like cases, strings, picks, and electronic tuners.

Our other needs at this time include volunteers to help with all the logistical stuff and a space for storage of instruments. We anticipate a future need for assistance with simple guitar repairs. Let us know if you can help.
